The Consortium of Limone di Sorrento PGI was constituted in March 2002 with the aim of creating initiatives to enhance and promote the Sorrento Lemon and increase marketing. The main instrument at the disposal of the Consortium is the purpose of control and supervision designed to protect the Sorrento lemon against counterfeiting and unfair competition.
